  1. On concrete floors, put down a double layer of 6 mil. plastic, as a vapor barrier.   Install the gripper strips around the perimeter of the room with short concrete nails, or Ramset them in, or hammer-drill in some plastic anchors.

    Lay down your padding, You can use some tape at the corners to hold it in place, and tape the butting edges to prevent shifting and overlap as you manuver the carpet on it.

    Lay down your carpet, set the longest edge, kick and cut-in the rest.


  2. Why would you need to glue or s***w  a carpet to a floor ?. First of all underlay is not fixed, simply laid. Carpet is fixed to carpet gripper which is all around the edges of the room, and fixed to the concrete floor with special nails designed for the job.
