Question:

Alternator help 85 honda accord

I went to some auto parts store to check into a ho alternator.86 models and up they do.one man told me that on some of the old gm model cars you could ground it out or something with the wiring to let it run fully.its not the big 3 set he is talking about i asked.Does anyone have a clue to what this may be if not i will do the big three first and them have to go to a custom shop if it doesnt cure the prob.He gave me the number of a man who owned a alternator shop but cant reach him.the car has been redone paint interior everything any help would be great .

problem lights dim and i know sooner or later the it will go out.I dont want to go to a custom shop and pay out the *** any help around this.but if so i will.or does the guy have no idea what he is talking about
