  1. it is complex when you use although, just learned that today in school.

    more than one thing is happening, so it can't be

    simple (that would be 'I'll still go to work today')

    but, "Although I am sick" can't stand alone

    as it's own sentence either so it can't be compound...

    (which is just two complete sentences joined)

    so it has to be complex.
