  1. Hi there :)     The reeds that I have always used and liked are the Vandoren.   Now depending on how long you have been playing and the strength of your embouchure...  you might want to get the 3 1/2 or 4 strength reeds.   But you mentioned sound?  I think one of the more important factors for a good sound is your set up  ....  your mouthpiece and ligature.   Another consideration is the type of playing you do.  Jazz..  pop... classical...  There are great jazz mouthpieces, both hard rubber and metal that would not really work for pop or classical.    I have a suggestion that you might want to consider.   Look up Woodwind and Brasswind on google.  Give them a call and ask for a Woodwind catalog to be sent to you.  It's free.   In the saxophone section you will find the brands they carry and they will be described for the type of music they are designed.   This will give you an idea of what might really meet your needs.  Also,  you can save money with Woodwind and Brasswind.  Cheaper than the local music stores for sure.  Hope that I was able to help.  :)
