1. I've managed to find a one way price of £12.65.

First, I used this site http://www.travelinemidlands.co.uk to find out all of the possible routes using their "travel now" tool on the right hand side of the screen. I just typed in from birmingham to alton towers and it brought up the easiest option which is as follows:

    Coach

    (1h 35mins)

From: BRADFORD ST, Stop XF, Digbeth Coach Station, Digbeth

    Leave at: 07:30

    Service Number: 325

Operator: National Express (National Coach Services)

Arrive at: 09:05 Hanley, Bus Station, stand 23, Bus Station

    Walk

    (2mins)

From: Hanley, Bus Station, stand 23, Bus Station

    Leave09:05

Arrive: 09:07 Hanley, Bus Station, stand 10, Bus Station

    Bus

    (52mins)

From: Hanley, Bus Station, stand 10, Bus Station

    Leave at: 09:26

    Service Number: 32A

    Operator: First Potteries Ltd/FirstGroup

Arrive 10:18 Alton Towers, Farley Ln, Opposite Alton Towers

    Walk

    (8mins)

From: Alton Towers, Farley Ln, opposite Alton Towers

    Arrive10:26 ALTON TOWERS

Now this site doesnt show the prices so I just went on the National Express website which is http://www.nationalexpress.com/

and using their "book tickets" tool on the left hand side of the screen, typed in from: birmingham to: hanley (for the first part of the journey as stated in the timetable above), chose the option that leaves at 07:30am just like the timetable above and it came up with a one way adult price of £8.10.

Then, I went to the FirstGroup website which is http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/northwes...

and clicked on the "Fares & Tickets" option (about halfway down on the left hand side of the screen) and then it comes up with tickets that cover the whole staffordshire region, so just below where you'll have clicked "fares & tickets" there should be another option now saying "FirstDay", click that and it'll tell you about the ticket that will cover you to travel anywhere in the region on their buses for the whole day and the ticket costs between £4.00 and £4.50. I think you can just buy the ticket from the driver when you get on the bus, but they do give a customer care line on the website which is 08708 500 868 and open from monday-friday 08:00am-18:00pm.

So, in total for the one way journey from Birmingham to Alton Towers it costs £12.65! Ta Daaa!!!

Hope this helps and isnt too late for you, have a great time in Alton Towers!!!
