  1. when you send or sell aluminum cans etc. to a recycle center or junk yard they in turn sell the scrap to foundries that melt it down and make it into new pop cans, car parts, aircraft, boats, etc.etc. etc.

as opposed to dumping it in a landfill with all the other garbage and digging up new ore to make into these products. So yes recycling saves over 50% energy total. and you can also recycle paper glass plastic etc. everything but food waste and if your really a greeny that can go into a composter so you have almost no garbage.

  2. Aluminum, hands down.  This is actually a pure element, which means it has a 100% recycle rate, the energy used in recycling it is all from melting it down.

Glass is also an infinite recycle loop, it's made from melted sand, and once metled can be reshapped.

Petroleum products (I assume that's what you mean by pet) like plastics or such have to go through some chemical processes to be reused (still better than new creation) but not as good as aluminum.  There is a company, Teracycle, that reuses bottles as is, consequently you could get the same product in a coke bottle, or a 7-up bottle, etc.

  3. Better to send this type of stuff to a recycling center it does get reused

We personally have no idea into what!!!!!

I have seen soft drink cans made into ornaments really clever to

    And marketable
