  1. Get the yellow pages out - look up the number of a shop that sells welding equipment- ask them for the closest location of a shop that does aluminum welding and that does good work. They would be the ones that will know .

  2. More info needed.  What size boat: small craft Alm fishing boat or a River Jet boat that has thick plates.  Thick alm plates are easy to weld where as the thin stuff "blows" holes in it easily.  Definitely do not have an amateur work on this boat.  Are you in Racine, Wi?  Is so call 262-634-6615.  They do good work per my buddy who lives back there.

  3. It takes much pratice to become good at welding aluminum. You need a tig or mig welder which are expensive and the supplies are also expensive. Would be cheaper to have a good welder do this for you that is already set up to weld aluminum. Where I live, there is a place that repairs boat motor props. They are wonderful at welding aluminum.

There are special rods that you can melt with a propane or map  gas torch sort of like brazing, but I think it would be a better idea to go with a pro welder.

  4. might be a bit thin the weld.... pop rivets and silicone maybe.... im sure their a boat repair yard somewhere  you might get a better answer

  5. Almost anyone that is listed in the phone book as a welder can weld aluminum. Just gotta call and ask.

No more information needed and it's not too thin to weld.

  6. Most machine or welding shops have MIG or TIG machines and people who can repair your boat.
