Question:

Aluminum vs. plasic strap snowbaord bindings?

I grew out of my boots and bindings this year and i don't really know what too look for in buying bindings. I've previously had ones from ride, i'm pretty sure they were the LXh. I've been told that aluminum is too stiff to work as well as plastic, but they're more durable, which works better?

  1. look at the binding and try and determine if it was cheaply made or if its made to last.  if you are only going snowboarding once a year than you can get at least 3 or 4 years out of a cheap set of bindings(if you dont grow out of them first), but if you will be on the sloap frequently you need to fork out some cash.  there is nothing worse than getting halfway down the slope and having your bindings break.  stiff is not necessarily bad either, cause it can mean more control.

  2. Go with the nylon straps and aluminum ratchets.
