Alvaro Bautista of Rizla Suzuki aims to complete season with best shot at Valencia GP – MotoGP
Rizla Suzuki rider Alvaro Bautista is looking forward to mark a good end to the 2011 MotoGP season at Valencia GP.
The 18th and season finale will take place at the legendary Ricardo Tormo circuit at Valencia, Spain. It is the home event for the Spanish rider.
Bautista said, “I am really looking forward to going to the Valencia race. It has been a tough time for all of us since Sepang, but I am ready for the last race and the fact that it is in my home country always makes it a special occasion.”
In the recent races Bautista has been pushing himself to the extent, which he proved by taking a third position on the grid at Phillip Island.
Though he has collected two consecutive ‘did not finish’ statuses at Motegi and Phillip Island but he has been strong through the race weekends.
Earlier in the mid of the season he had a similar downfall when he crashed out of couple of races at Laguna Seca and Brno.
Since then he managed to reform himself and scored decent finish with respect to his start position in the race.
At Indianapolis, he took sixth position across the finish line from ninth place on the grid. Coming to Misano, he sustained his eighth grid position in the race results.
Whereas last time at Motorland Aragon he did a great job with 11th position on the grid and finishing the race in sixth place.
Bautista added, “I have done well in the last few races, and my Suzuki has felt great, but the results have not arrived so we need to put that right. My target for the weekend is to fight to the maximum, finish the race with a good result and dedicate it
to Marco.”
He has been a decent challenge for Simoncelli in several races. Especially in last few races, he had enough pace to keep a close chase on Super Sic, which made him defend his position from Bautista.
Bautista will be trying to do his best at Valencia and dedicate his performance to Super Sic. The Spaniard is at 12th position in the world championship.
