Alvaro Bautista renews his contract with San Carlo Honda Gresini for next 2013 season – MotoGP news
Alvaro Bautista of San Carlo Honda Gresini managed attaining 3rd position in the Japanese Grand Prix at the Motegi circuit.
It was a great weekend for him as he re-signed contract with San Carlo Honda Gresini team for the next 2013 season.
He enjoyed the weekend because he signed the contract with his team for the next 2013 season and told that he knew that he would be fighting for the podium at Japanese GP considering the performance of his bike. The race pace was good and he tried and achieved
his targets for the race however he is not satisfied with the start of his race but he managed recovering quickly.
Bautista said, “It was a great weekend, also signing the contract for next season with Gresini Racing. I knew I could fight for the podium because yesterday [Saturday] we proved we had a good race pace - so I tried and succeeded.”
Furthermore, he said that he and Cal Crutchlow of Monster Yamaha Tech3 almost had the same speed over the circuit therefore he decided to maintain a safe distance so he may not overheat the brakes. At about end of the race he attacked the Monster Yamaha
Tech3 rider and enjoyed the fight for the lead with him. Crutchlow was unable to make it to the finish line in the Japanese GP.
“I'm very happy for my team mechanics, who have worked hard together with Showa to give me a competitive bike, also by sponsors and HRC, which is giving me all the necessary support. I hope to continue this in the coming races,” he added.
He appreciated the efforts of his team for providing him with a competitive bike and anticipates that he will be able to continue with same results in the remainder of the season. There are still 3 races remaining in the current 2012 season.
Podium at Japanese GP was the second podium of his career. He attained the first podium of his career in the San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano circuit by finishing at the 3rd position.
Let’s see how the Spanish rider performs in the remainder of the season.
