Alvaro Bautista says he is confident for Aragon after his podium at the Misano circuit – MotoGP news
Alvaro Bautista of San Carlo Honda Gresini is confident for the upcoming Aragon Grand Prix at his home circuit particularly after attaining a podium in the Italian Grand Prix.
He anticipates that he will be fighting for the podium in the upcoming weekend after extensive practice session because he believes that his team will be able to find a suitable setting for the complex circuit.
Bautista was able to achieve a convincing podium in the Italian GP. He admired his team for their efforts. There were able to achieve good settings for the circuit with just one dry practice session.
He said, “The team did a great job at Misano in the only dry session we had available to find a good setting for the bike and even improve it from what we had at Brno. Now after the race at Misano I can go into my next home round feeling confident and highly
motivated.”
The Honda Gresini rider believes that he will be able to make it to the podium in the Spanish Grand Prix because of the success they had achieved with their new settings on the Italian circuit.
The Spanish rider told that Aragon is not among his favourite circuits because of the challenging nature of the track. The fast corners and long straights make the settings hard to achieve. The settings should be such that the bike could manage with the
combination of long straights and corners along with hills.
“Aragón isn't one of my favourites. It has some fast corners, some hard braking and some difficult direction changes as well as a very long straight. It's not easy to find a setting that works around the whole track,” he added.
Bautista attained 3rd position on the Misano circuit. He made it to the finish line with a gap of 6.055 seconds to the winner of the race, Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha Factory Racing. The podium at the Italian circuit was the first podium of his MotoGP Career
which started in 2010.
Let’s see how the Spaniard performs at his home circuit in the upcoming Aragon Grand Prix.
