Alvaro Quiros seeks to to win the RealeSeguros Open de España
Alvaro Quiros is heading to the upcoming RealeSeguros Open de España in Spain, with an aim to become the proud winner of the tournament.
The 29-year-old Spanish golf player will be teeing off the European Tour tournament in his homeland, the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla in Seville, Spain.
In the 2010 season, he won the title in playoff by scoring a 11-under 277. James Morrison gave him a tough time, and both the players tied for the top position. However, Quiros shot an early birdie and won the title in an impressive style.
This year, he is aiming to do his best in Spain and keep the title within his country. More interestingly, there will be the 40th anniversary of the European Tour in the coming week.
It was 1972, when the first tournament was played at this tour. On the other hand, the Spanish Open Golf will also be celebrating its anniversary, as it was firstly played in 1912.
There are two big news and all the players are striving to display a piece of gaming in the upcoming mega week.
Rafael Cabrera-Bello is another Spaniard and also seeking the title of the RealeSeguros Open de España. He won the title of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in February 2012, and is now looking forward to becoming impressive in Spain.
"Seve and José MaríaOlazábal are the reason I play golf. They were my idols when I was young and they still are, so playing in a tournament they have played in is special," Quiros said.
"I would love to win the Open de España and Spanish golf is on a high at the moment with Sergio winning twice at the end of last year, Alvaro winning twice in Dubai last season and me winning there this year".
The field is already set and all the players are arriving in Spain. There is likely to be tough competition, as the most of the European Tour players are in the field, who are gearing up to tee off on Thursday.
Quiros and other Spaniards, who are seeking to win the title, should perform well. There are ample chances for them to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the European Tour by recording a win.
