Alvent Yulianto Chandra, Markis Kido proceed to pre quarter-finals of 2012 Macau Open
Indonesia’s talented duo Alvent Yulianto Chandra-Markis Kido had a perfect start in Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold as they cleared the first hurdle in the Men’s Doubles event on November 28, 2012.
Both partners forged fruitful chemistry against Chan Yun Lung-Wong Wai Hong and earned right to be in the pre quarter-final round of this esteemed tournament.
Alvent Yulianto and Markis Kido were in prime touch throughout this hard fought battle as they placed a favourable result of 21-16, 13-21 and 21-15.
The Indonesian pair laid the foundation of its supremacy straight away in the beginning of first set and maintained the upper hand in most part of the game.
On the other hand, Yun Lung and Wai Hong could not come out of their rivals’ influence and crashed out in disgraceful manner.
In the opening game, Alvent Yulianto and Markis Kido unleashed a flurry of power packed strokes and bagged five points in a row.
They did not show mercy in next couple of rallies and piled up a mountainous figure of 11. This initial lead helped them to rule the court in the latter part of the game.
They maintained a significant difference until last shot was played and won this crucial set with a convincing margin of 21-16.
However, the Hong Kong shuttlers did not remain at lower end permanently as they managed to rise from the dust in very next game.
This time Yun Lung and Wai Hong played with right attitude and fortitude to avoid a straight-set defeat.
They established an unassailable lead with 7-2 total and then relished this advantage to oust the opponents.
They finished the first half of the set with a respectable figure of 11-6 and swept the table with a staggering knock of 21-13.
This revised match score position brought life back into the contest and both pairs made every effort to exceed the opposing team.
They remained close on the points table until mid-game break but then the Indonesian shuttlers showed elevated craft and locked the honour with a concluding margin of 21-15.
Now the victorious duo will lock horns with the twosome of Hafiz Faisal-Eka Putra Chris in second round.
