Alves believes http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique’s yellow card is being heavily chewed over by the media
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Alves has recently made comments about media’s behaviour regarding Gerard Pique’s booking against Rayo Vallecano.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Real Madrid were both warned over the fact that if any team’s player deliberately picks up a yellow card in order to avoid a suspension against Real Madrid on 10th December 2011, the player would get suspended for two matches rather
than one.
Pique wasted time while taking a throw in and he was made to pay the price as he is now going to serve a two match suspension; including the game against Real Madrid.
The Brazilian fullback, Daniel Alves, believes that this topic has been harshly abused by the media and the press simply looks at Barcelona closely.
He thinks that the press is trying to weaken his side before the game against Madrid.
Alves was adamant at the fact that Gerard Pique’s booking against Rayo Vallecano was not too big an issue but the media dragged it a lot and that is one of the reasons why he is now being suspended for games.
Pique missing out on two fixtures is not a sure-shot but he will definitely be missing a tough fixture against Levante which is scheduled to take place over the weekend.
There are claims that Pique got himself booked and the media highlighted this time and time again. Now, the question is whether the Spanish footballing authorities will be handing the Spaniard with a two-match ban.
Alves believes that his team-mate did not deliberately pick up a yellow card and the fact that the media is dragging this way too much is simply out of proportion.
Alves was quoted saying:
"Once again everyone is looking at Barcelona very closely, everything we do is frowned upon.”
While talking about the next few games, Alves was quoted saying:
"We have to focus on ourselves and ignore the comments from outside which are trying to destabilise [us]."
While talking to the press, Alves also had to say a few things about his new team-mate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979. The Chilean winger managed to grab a double in the 4-0 win against Rayo Vallecano and Alves expressed his delight over the new comer’s form. He said:
"I am very happy for him. [He] works well, has been quite successful in front of goal and ultimately was able to score two goals."
