The Barcelona defender has stated that health comes first and football must be second on the priority list, while talking about manager Tito Vilanova.
Barcelona football club are currently undergoing a rough patch as they have lost their manager Tito Vilanova to an illness.
The disease is a cancerous tumour, inside his throat, and it has kept the Barcelona manager out from football now.
The disease has occurred for the second time in Vilanova’s medical history, the first happening occurred last year.
Almost 12 months back, Vilanova was treated for the same cancerous growth and returned after a lengthy spell.
Sadly, the Barcelona head-coach has now again suffered a relapse of the same illness and had to undergo a surgery last week.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s board has now stated the manager’s surgery has gone according to plans and now he is on his way to recovery.
Many are expecting their beloved manager to make a swift return to his football duties as he has done ever so well, since grabbing the hot seat at the Catalan club.
Vilanova had stepped up from the assistant manager’s post at the end of last season as then manager, Pep Guardiola, decided to leave the Spanish giants and take a break from football for some time.
The new manager has led Barcelona to their best ever La Liga start in the competition’s 103 year old history and has helped them reach the top of La Liga’s charts.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-Alves-c9869 however believes that their manager must first fully recover from his illness and then return to action.
"It was a surprise and we were happy to know that he was already at home (after the operation). We're ready to help in any way he needs. Football is secondary right now. He is fighting for his life."
"We've built a considerable advantage because we've made the most of our opponents dropping points," he said.
"But it's an advantage that we need to look after, because we still have many games left. We're only at matchday 17. We must work to extend this advantage after the resumption."
“I'm very happy at Barcelona," he said.
Barcelona are currently 9 points ahead of 2nd placed Atletico Madrid.
