The right-back has taken out time to express that the upcoming Spanish Super Cup is not significant and that it will not affect the next season’s campaign.
Barcelona’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-Alves-c9869 is of the opinion that pre-season friendly matches and the Spanish Super Cup are of little importance.
La Blaugrana will take on their fierce traditional rivals, Real Madrid, in the cup final which will kick-off prior to the 2012-2013 season’s Spanish La Liga campaign.
The final of the Spanish Super Cup consists of two legs and is played amongst the winner of the Spanish Primera Division and the winner of the Copa del Rey. If one team is able to win both trophies, then the club securing the 2nd position in La
Liga is given a place in the final.
Los Blancos were the champions of the Liga BBVA in the last season, whereas the Catalans triumphed over the Copa del Rey.
Super Copa de Espana is considered to be an esteemed title in the Iberian Peninsula, and the fans and audiences are anticipating the fixture quite eagerly since it will be bringing together the top two clubs of the Spanish Primera Division.
Alves is adamant that even though his side will try their best to emerge as victors from the clash, it is not vital to be successful.
While talking to reporters, the former Sevilla footballer was quoted as saying:
“I don’t think that these games will change anything. It is a good challenge for us and an extra motivation to start a season like this. For our part, we will just try and do what we have always done against them in previous seasons. We want to enjoy it
and win, but if we can’t do it, at the very least we will give a good showing”.
“I think the only real change has been that Guardiola isn’t leading the sessions, Tito is –we are doing the same work, the same things. The boss has his ideas very clear and we will be trying to help him. This is down to all of us – we are all Barça and
between us all we will try.”
The first leg of the Spanish Super Cup will take place at the Nou Camp.
