  1. well, have you tried to confront whatever is chasing you in your dream?  try controling your dream, dont run, face whatever it is and fight!

  2. This type of dream is common when trying to deal with something that is bothering you; especially if you say that "there's not really a way to solve it."  There may not be a way to solve it, but perhaps you need to accept what is happening even if you cannot solve it.

When you don't know why you are having a dream and when it's repetitive, you can train your subconscious to "talk" to your dream.  When you fall asleep at night, tell yourself that when the dream occurs you will not run but you will ask "who are you and what do you want".  You may need a few nights of practice before getting it but it's do-able.

I suggest you get rid of the ipod in your ears and just relax and breathe normally and be in a comfortable position to fall asleep.  Slowly repeat in your head "who are you and what do you want".  Imagine yourself not running in your dream and confronting what is running after you.  Be patient with yourself.  I've done it before and it can be resolved.

You'll be surprised at the outcome.  What is chasing you is not necessarily bad....

Good luck with it and don't panic.  You are not loosing your mind, this is your subconscious trying to talk to you...

  3. I have suffered from nightmares all my life and some are really scary, especially if they recur again and again.

A trick I have used with some success is to begin to go to sleep and when you reach that funny [peculiar] stage when still conscious but fading  into sleep, consciously trigger the dream and then change it to a more positive 'story'. Doesn't always work and does need practice but has helped sometimes.

I used to have one that included a bit where I was trapped in a caravan with loads of budgies in it and  someone not nice outside. I never got rid of the person but managed to 'create' a bit where I broke the window and the birds flew out. Didn't stop the whole thing but eased the fear factor

  4. what kind of nightmare are you having ?

  5. I second Jeff's answer.  Break the dream down into significant symbols and analyze what they mean to you.

    Good luck.

  6. Think about what might be in your life right now that may be causing this nightmare. Maybe there's somthing that's driving you crazy. Like the sink is leaking, or somthing crazy like that. Then stop the thing that's causing the nightmare and you'll be just fine.

  7. It's kinda hard to answer your question without hearing what the nightmare is.  In order to help stop the nightmare, you need to interpret it, and figure out how it fits in to your real life.  That way you will be able to change something consiously in your everyday life that might be affecting your sub-consious.  Also, maybe it has to do with a repressed memory that you need to address.  You really shouldn't fall asleep to an Ipod or any noise, unless its white noise.  The words to any of those songs could really affect your dreams, whether they are positive songs or not.  Your sleeping brain cannot distinguish that.

  8. repetitive dreams are usually linked to something in your unconscious, trying to reach your conscious mind. i don't know the details of your nightmare but you could try picking up a dream interpretation book to help you un-code some of the symbolism in your nightmare and resolve the issue causing it. if you know how to turn your dream into a lucid one (being conscious of the fact that you're dreaming and able to control your actions) then you can steer the nightmare in a less horrible direction.

  9. Same nightmare or recurring bad dream may be triggered by something that happened that you feel unresolved in waking life.

I am not sure what your nightmare is.  But most of the nightmare reflects fear, anxiety.

In order to stop it, you have to face it, deal with the problem. For example:-   If you have the nightmare about being killed, this is symbol of insecurity.  Then in waking life, you have to find out how to feel secure.

In your case, being chased may mean you are feeling some criticism in you and that is why you feel fear, the low confidence and lack of support may be the reason.  So, in reality, you must build up your confidence, perhaps, share more your concerns and problems with people will help

  10. there is clearly something on your mind causing this.

once you deal with whatever it is that is troubling you. the dreams will stop.

  11. meditate

  12. listen to music before u go to bed, and that day, make urself really tired u u sleep really hard!

  13. you always dream of something you think or thought about, your mind can twist these thoughts up ....sometime real bad ..or good. if its bothering you that much and its makeing you feel scared. try going to church
