As things stand, the finances of seven-time Ligue 1 champions Olympique Lyonnais are in a precarious state. The club is now forced to show some players the exit door of Stade de Gerland in order to recoup some money before considering signing a new player.
Among those players, is France international Aly Cissokho. The young left-back signed for Les Gones from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 a few seasons back and has become an integral part of the Lyon side. However, the youngster has many a times expressed his desire to leave the
club soon. The youngster has been getting admiring glances from English Premier League side Newcastle United.
Furthermore, the club is also willing to sell the left-back if any club meets Lyon’s valuation of the defender. A fee in the region of 10 million Euros is believed to be enough for securing the services of the youngster.
With the winter transfer window now open, Lyon might enter discussions with clubs interested in Cissokho’s services. However, Aly Cissokho is still unclear about his future along with the club owners who still haven’t received a concrete offer for the player.
While talking to L’Equipe, Cissokho said, “There is nothing serious for now. I am happy to be here. I am in a club that plays in the Champions League with a coach who trusts me. I am not in a position where I do not play. I will discuss (my future) this
week with the staff.”
The recent statements made by the youngster certainly show that Lyon are yet to receive a concrete offer from either Newcastle United or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 – clubs that have been monitoring his progress for the past few months.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 keen on signing UAE international Hamdan Al-Kamali from Al-Wahda, Aly Cissokho’s departure from the Rhone club would certainly facilitate and finance the arrival of the 22-year-old Middle Eastern defender.
Furthermore, the departure of Cissokho would give a great chance to academy player Thimothée Kolodziejczak who has been touted as a future left-back for the France national side.
