  1. Practice makes perfect, if you have your heart set on something do whatever it takes to get to that goal.

  2. art classes

  3. sorry.. what?

  4. Art classes, get a friend that knwos how to help you, try and be an apprentice of a tatto artist, practice your *** off...

  5. draw at least one thing every day. preferably lots and lots of things. you don't have to take classes. just practice every single day and you will get alot better.

  6. I say get Private Art Classes then go onto Getting a degree in College!; )

    Good luck!--x

  7. you cant be one if you cant draw so ur gonna have to learn how to draw lol..

  8. if you can't draw, what makes you think that a real person wants you to do something permanent on their body?  If it is the atmosphere, maybe you should look into piercing.

  9. Buy lots of drawing books

like how to draw designs and such

and look around you and just try to draw something random

If you go to www.deviantart.com, you can find SO many ideas.

Practice, practice, practice. You may suck at first. but the more you keep drawing, the more advanced you'll get.

  10. Well if you don't know how to draw, then you not going to be a tattoo artist....I mean after all, you need to be first and foremost and ARTIST!!!

You can learn to draw through various means.

I learned to draw by copying other artists images. Not tracing, but looking at an image and imitating the lines. Then I moved on to observing real objects and tried to imitate shading ad so forth.

Even at that, I'm no Picasso! People who want good tattoos, look for artists that can draw extremely well.

I would think you would need to be able to not only draw through observation, but also be to pull ideas from your head, or the client's head, to come up with cool designs. And be able to modify the drawings on the fly when actually creating the tattoo based on the area being tattooed and be able to mask mistakes.

I would take some classes. Start now taking art classes in high school and see how you do.

And drawing is only half of the equation. You need to be good with color as well.

    Edit:

Of course you could become really good at black and white drawings and specialize in black ink tattoos only. I'm sure there is a market for that, but you need to be good a drawing no matter what you end up doing.
