I drink 4 cups of coffee a day.

Do I just really like the stuff, or would you call it an addiction?

  1. if you feel sick or tired or restless without it it's an addiction

  2. Don't worry; I don't think you're addicted. I used to drink 4-6 or more cups a day and then I realized the only reason I did is because I was so used to it n there was nothing else that I liked to drink at home. I like coffee but there are lots of better drinks. Try this for a couple of days - go out and buy many different types of drinks (non-alcoholic) and clear ur home of coffee. And every time ur in the mood for coffee try a different drink. Then decide on ur top 3 drinks (or more) and buy more of it and limit yourself to a cup of coffee a day. If that 1 cup a day makes u want more then just dont keep any coffee at ur home.

  3. I think you really just like the stuff. To see if you're addicted, try cuttin back gradually (as a test). If you really can't cut back, then you're addicted.

  4. NO no not at all i take 7 so im addict four are ok i think

  5. an addiction is where you drink about 7 cups a day and cant live without it. I think you just like coffee but you are not addicted. Im addicted to Tea and after i have drunk one cup i want another one about an hour later

  6. I tend to drink a lot of coffee myself - about 6 or 7 cups a day. It's the caffeine that has the hold on you. If you're worried about it try reducing your intake by maybe having one regular cup of coffee and then later on having a cup of decaf instead. 4 cups doesn't sound all that many though.

  7. I drink 5 or 6 mugs of coffee a day, when I'm off work.  When I'm working i've cut down to one mug. Instead I drink lemon tea when I get up, take a bottle of weak berley water to work, have a mug of coffee when I get home, a glass of red wine with my evening meal, maybe a mug of tea later, and a glass of cold  Jersey milk before bed. And i sometimes also have a can of Red Bull at work.

  8. No. Not at all.

  9. You are not addicted.

I am italian and before I moved to London I used to drink 10 -12 espresso a day...I was not addicted, I just love drinking coffe!

4 cups are not a lot. You can drink and enjoy them!

  10. Could you give it up? If not that you may be addicted, but if you drink it because you like it and it's there probably not. Plus I think you'd probably drink more than 4 cups a day if you were

  11. No - not with just four cups.

  12. IF you are addicted, it means you can not functon correctly without it.  If there are days where you dont have any coffee, it maybe just that you WANT coffee, not NEED it.

  13. First of all, people don't get addicted to 'coffee' they get addicted to the  'Caffienne' that's in the coffee. Secondly since the recommended daily intake of caffienated coffee is three cups a day you're only one over that limit so it will be fine.

  14. There really is not enough information do determine if you are addicted or not. If you were you would actually be addicted to the caffeine not the coffee itself. Many people drink a lot of caffeine but it is what happens when they don't that tells if they hav an addition or not.

However, at 85mg of caffeine per serving 4 cups is definately too much. That puts your daily intake over the maximum safe intake of 300mg per day.

If you have sleeping problems, headaches, feel tired all of the time (this is due to the fact that caffeine dehydrates us and when dehydrated we feel tired), or other aches and pains you will want to back off. I will spare you the additional comments on longer term problems with excess caffeine just becuase your question really did not seem to neccessitate it.

  15. Look at it like this, is 4 cups of coffee bad for you? Probably not, so don't worry.

  16. 4 cups in nothing you should spend a day in our house - coffee, coffee, coffee. so I had to go on to decaf so I wouldnt have the shakes
