  1. go to a people finder site, they can locate basic info like phone or address for you for a small fee.

  2. Wow that's an interesting piece of info. I don't think this particular site is appropriate for that sort of thing though. I don't know, but I don't think you could be suspended on here for that. Good luck!

  3. Robin,

    I think it is fine!!!

If you are suspended you can always make another account!!!!

But you might actually get some info about your bio family.

That is much more important than worrying about a suspension!!!!

  4. I think you can post any info in this site, we are here to help, and we may come out with something helpful to you.

  5. you can go to the  court house and ask where to go to get the adoption files opened as you are entitled to know all about your birth and adoption if you are age 18 or older. They have to give you the info on these records. However I think they are bound by law to contact your birth parents and aske if they want to get in touch with you. Good luck.

  6. Don't post here. You have a lot of information, if your birth certificate is indeed the original, then your birthmother's name should be on it, if it isn't, then it's an amended one. You might try some adoption registry's or locateme.com

  7. How sad that we adoptees have to ask if we are 'allowed' to know our own people

    It is your birthright.

Go ahead and post whatever you like.  There are good people here who are willing to help and direct you to the most beneficial search resources

  8. you won't be suspended. It depends on how much information you're willing to put out there. Don't ever put things like addresses or social security numbers where people can steal your already stolen identity.

have you gone to www.latediscovery.org a friend of mine runs that group and its for late discovery adoptees. May be good for you.

You can also find a good support group here www.adultadoptees.org for all adoptees and theres alot of seraching help there too.

awesome job on securing your obc, thats the hardest step for many. I found my first parents with just my non id and some creative searching approaches, so with a name i hope you don't have to search for long.

also register here www.isrr.net the worlds largest reunion registry. :) and its free :) :) :)

i go to www.ussearch.com and do a name and approx. age search on their free search. Then up will come free results that will tell you the state that they've found matches to the name in.

from there ( i don't pay for more information with them, just use that as a lead ) I go to http://www.blackbookonline.info and use their free searching resources like name and address locators and state resources for the states and names that US search gave me.

    give it a go!!

  9. No, don't do that because it won't help you. Instead, go to adoption search registries and post there.   There are also adoptee searching groups on Yahoo!Groups that can give you information as to where to hunt.  Good luck.

  10. In addition to the adoption category, you may also want to try and post it in the Genealogy Category (under Arts & Humanitites).  I would be careful with the information that you post though because you don't want anyone taking advantage of that info.

    Good luck.

  11. You can usually google their names and their last known city and find SOMETHING. That';s how I found my sister. SHe posted an announcment at her college loking for a lab tech and That Was IT.

I wouldn't put personal info here if I were you. YOu can email me and I'll do some searching for you if you like

  12. You can try to find them on here but I strongly suggest that you don't put your full name and birth date on here. Someone may use it the wrong way to hurt you or steal from you. I'd use a site especially for finding birth parents. Good luck to ya!!

  13. I wouldn't post that info here... I would hire a private investigator or find an adoption site that reunites families.

  14. I wouldnt post here but at some of the genealogy sites. There are surname message boards at those which are free to post at. There may also be a registry where you were born and adopted.

  15. I don't know if it's against the rules here. I wouldn't do that if i was anyway. Any info that you put here could be used by a badperson to take advantage of your situation.

There are organizations that help you find you parents. You need to find one and do this search through them. Not only will it be safer for you, it'll also allow somebody to contact your biological parents first. That could be beneficial since they might not want to see you (tough, but not unheard of), or they could be in a difficult situation and that could affect you.

I know there are lots of 'coulds' and 'mights' in this answer. The point i'm trying to get across is that the most important thing for you during this process is to keep yourself safe while doing it. Wish you the best.

  16. Robin, you can post their information on here without a problem.  You are looking for help, and perhaps someone knows your biological parents names.  If there are middle initials, please enter them, also, and the city and state you were born in might help.  Any other info that you can think of to narrow the search down would be helpful.

    Best of luck to you.
