  1. If you want to be a pilot I am sorry but you will need much better grades than 'D's.  Can you retake them both and work hard to improve your grades?

Have you looked on the RAF website for more information?  It is a really good website.

Also, you can do well in English Language even if you do not do too well in literature as they require different skills.  However, if you seriously are thinking about a pilot then you need hard science A 'Levels such as Maths and Physics.

  2. you can get in but not as a pilot no, nor as an aircraft engineer you'll need higher grades than that C min in maths and english. There are plenty of other jobs and you still might might be able to get in as officer but unlikely unless you get higher marks for A- Levels. Don't get down though visit your local AFCO ask them what you've got here and they will be able to point you in the right direction.

  3. I'm sorry mate but to be honest, you have no chance of making the grade as an RAF pilot.  These days, they are generally looking for a minimum of 4 high grade 'A' levels, ESPECIALLY in English and maths.  It's not just because you have to think quickly as a pilot, it's also a fact that you have to be 'officer material'.  Don't misunderstand me here.  I'm not talking about the 'old school tie brigade'. It means you need leadership skills which will require you to manage highly intellectual individuals who will soon find you out if you're not up to scratch.

Having said that, there are many opportunities open to you in the RAF such as aircraft maintenance.  This is a vital job, and with your obvious determination, I see no reason why you can't forefill this role.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I would thoroughly recommend a career in the RAF.

Finally, I would like to say that I would love you to prove me wrong!

Andy.  Ex Vulcan Navigator. (or 2nd officer as they call them these days)!

  4. Unlikely,  Get all A* A levels then try

  5. Unlikely, mate. Piloting needs very highly developed intellectual skills which include literacy and maths. I mean A* grades.

The RAF have other jobs so maybe you might need to find out what skills they need. In any case, you need to sort out English Language.

  6. yes course u will

  7. Hello.

If your typing is anything to go by, I would doubt it sincerely, you becoming a pilot in the RAF.
