Question:

Am I Going to Jail???

I'm really scared right now, because I was just talking to a friend of mine and he said that something we did might end up getting the cops involved.

Pretty much, he was originally a she, and when he was, this guy (according to him), constantly molested him but he was too scared to tell the police. Now, once he'd found his account on a certain online community, he asked me to get involved. What we did, was pretty much dig all that stuff up and post it on his profile, but I posted as my friend on a separate account, like he asked me to. But he told me to act like I was another person this guy had done this to, not as him.

Now, supposedly the cops are going to get involved and I'm scared! If they charged me with a crime, (and they probably will), what would it be, and am I going to go to jail? I'm only 15!

Please help!

  1. Talk to your parents kid.

  2. Interesting how people take someones questions, and "if" they are genuine concerns, a few people on here are blowing them off like, "deny everything,".......

well, if you posted information about an individual, regardless of what he/she has done to you, it is a case of  "slander", and def. of character.  both of which, if traced back to your computer via, your isp address, and any direct harm has come to the "person" you posted things about, you are liable.  thus, the cops could, push for court, fines, probation, and so fourth.

If this is true, what happened, involve the parents immediately.  no lies, that will only make things worse." if this is true'..

  3. There was no crime committed by you nor your friend.if anyone is going to jail is that guy who molested he or him

addt detail: you cant deny it b/c they can trace back the IIP of the computer that posted the stuff

  4. yer of corse m8 get a lawyer

  5. First of all if this person really did do this it is not slander, it is speaking the truth, if it is slander then every peice of S**t on the s*x offendor registry is being slanderd by the state. Let the cops get in the picture, Hopefully that child molestor that hurt your friend will get raped in prison.

  6. Don't you remember the incident a little while ago about a young girl who committed suicide b/c of an alleged guy (who turned out to be a neighbors mom) who broke up with her online???  The Mother has now been criminally charged.

That is an extreme example.  Go to your profile and delete everything NOW!!!  ASAP!!  And do not talk about it.  If you are questioned, invoke your right to remain silent and get a lawyer or one will be appointed for you free of charge.

Most likely nothing will happen but realize that a silly joke can be very harmful and can get you in lots of trouble.

  7. THE GUY MAY GO TO JAIL IF YOUR FRIEND FILES CHARGES

  8. It's a possibility, depending on what the other party decides.  There are privacy laws to be taken seriously. What's done is done, and it is what it is, now you'll have to sit tight, wait & see. When there's a paper trail there's no denying it.

  9. Should have contacted police originally...Talk to your parents...now ! You won't go to jail...

  10. Talk to your parents. NOW! Tell them what has happened. Contact an attorney and be ready for whatever comes next. Don't try to delete anything, cover anything up, or lie about anything. Listen to what your attorney says and let all your answers come from him. Let your attorney deal with the police and work out something so that your friends information can be checked out. If your friends info checks out you will probably only be charged with some misdemeanor.

In the future be careful what you let someone talk you into doing. If your friend has lied to you about what has happened then you may be looking at some fairly serious charges.

  11. Here is what we know... you and your friend broke the Law... here is what we don't really know... if the guy your Friend accused really did anything... but, one thing is sure... you broke the Law. Tell your parents now, don't ask your Friend (he, or she? They had a s*x change so young?? Ummm, not likely)...just tell your parents, you can't hide, the cops can get all the info they need from the ISP...
