Am I Norwegian?

Question

I was adopted at birth, and nieiher me, nor my adoptive parents know anything about my herritage. I have thick, brown, curley hair, blue eyes, and very pale skin that marks easily. I'm very small - short and have a very small head and feet. Are these traits of a Norwegian? If not, what am I, and how can I find out??

no u clearly were not adopted from norway

u wer adopted from usa which makes you american

its possible that u may have some norwegian ancestors...although these traits are from anywhere in northern europ: germany,ireland,england..etc

what you describe could come from ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.  I have no idea what reason you would suspect being Norwegian, unless that is where the adoption took place.

You can do dna testing which shows ancient ethnic groups, but that won't answer very much.  If your adoption was through an agency, I was under the understanding that most of those, keep files with background info but with the name omitted. That is one place you might start.

beyond the agency, here is a list of resources for adoptees and for birth parents too.  The reality is that many birth parents choose to look for their baby, years down the line. All depends on where you live.. and where the parent(s) live. They might be registered.  

Among these groups are many who have experience with the topic of adoption.. including how to not get hopes up, how to cope with find a parent that you wish you had not.. so forth.  Aside from finding your bio parents and tracing their ancestry.. or doing dna.. you are just making wild guesses based on appearance, which is really going to tell you nothing.

Is there a reason that you suspect your heritage is Norwegian?   The description you give could apply to pretty much anyone from  any country.  

Even though at first glance you might think of "Norway" as being your nationality, curly hair, fair skin, blue eyes and small heads and feet are also found on people in Ireland, Scotland, England,  Wales, France, Italy, Israel, Croatia, Romania.....    just about anywhere and everywhere.

Please try going to a "birth mother search" website.   For a fee, someone at one of these agencies will help you find information on your birthmother.
