Am I a German citizen?

Question

My mother was born in Germany in '58.

My grandmother was german & the father, an american.

My grandmother married, 2 years later, a differant american and moved to the US.

So with the blood citizen thing, do I have german citizenship.

Laws regarding citizenship have been changed several times over the last decades. Whether or not a person has acquired German citizenship may therefore depend on the person's date of birth:

If you were born before January 1, 1975:
