No.  There isn't a big enough variety of faces, facial features, and hair to pick from.  So, of course a lot are going to look the same.

Mine looks enough like me to be almost realistic, but I have seen a few that are almost identical.

BAD?  NO.  SOMEWHAT UNOBSERVANT? PROBABLY.

And yet it IS true that they offer us way too few options for creating these silly little pictures with which we represent ourselves.

For example, I cannot find hair ANYTHING like my own (dark brown with a bit of grey in front, and arranged in short curves sometimes parted in the middle and sometimes on the right side) so I cover it with a hat like the style I wear on those rare occasions when I do wear a hat at all.  There is no mouth anything like mine, either.  All the ones they offer are so large and mine is almost too small for my face.

I have seen some people with identical avatars.  With so few combinations and so many people using them, duplications are bound to occur.  But even so, I really don't think all THAT many look THAT much alike.
