When I was a little girl I used to hear people calling my name that werent there. Like i'd be playing alone in the living room and all of a sudden i'd hear my name called. I'd look around and think " who is it?" but due to my disability I couldnt verbally speak. I'm sure i mightve had conversations with "imaginary friends" otherwize.

I also have an uncanny way of knowing when a person in my family is about to die. Sofar i've been able to predict subconciously/conciously three people that have died in my family.

at the age of 16 is when things got even more weird. I began to feel cold spots in my house that shouldnt be there and was woken up at night by my bed being pushed. During this time the top of my head started to tingle. I felt like it was an "antenna" because it would start to go crazy whenever i was near a "cold spot" in my house.

A few months ago I began to stop being empathetic towards people and the tingling went away. I noticed this and felt it was odd.

  1. Sounds like schizphrenia

  2. I would figure you may be alittle of both here.

A CLAIRAUDIENT is an individual who has the keen ability to perceive sounds or words from outside sources, such as spirits or other entities. Being a clairaudient, moreover, is a form of channeling messages through audible thought patterns. Clairaudients can sometimes actually "hear" spirits conversing or even singing in their heads.

Perhaps a good example of being clairaudient would be as simple as experiencing a sudden or spontaneous thought to act or say something. Have you ever been walking through a store, and suddenly, a thought comes into your head that tells you that you need to go home? Following your notion, you leave the store. When you get home, you realize you'd left a pot cooking on the stove. This is a form of being clairaudient. Or, a voice tells you to look out your window. The moment you do, a visitor is coming up your driveway. This is also being clairaudient. Sometimes, the "voice" in the back of our heads tells us things we need to know for a reason. This is what being clairaudient is all about.

Clairvoyance (from 17th century French clair meaning "clear" and voyant meaning "seeing") is the purported ability to gain information about an object, location or physical event through means other than the known human senses,[1][2] a form of extra-sensory perception.

  6. Just go with your feelings and accept it as a gift.  I think the big thing is, as with myself, is empathy toward others, but at times, I don't really 'like' feeling others pain.  When something like this hits me, I've learned to send up a prayer for whoever it is suffering what I'm feeling, for God to take away their pain.  I don't know at the time who it is.  But when talking to people directly, also, I seem to 'tune in' to something bothering them and will bring it up gently, thus letting them 'get it out'.  I thank God for this gift and it's not something I go around talking about.  I, too, am disabled where I only have less than half my hearing, even with hearing aids.  I really don't believe it is a mental condition.  I function very well in the world. Good luck and God Bless.  You can be a help to many people.

  7. I completely understand what you're going through. I classify myself as a "sensitive" but not a medium.  You may also be a "sensitive."  I classify mediums and sensitives differently.

As a sensitive you are naturally empathetic towards others.  This sensitivity typically extends to people and animals.  However, as you've noticed you can turn this empathy on and off.

As a sensitive, not only are good things attracted to you but evil is attracted to you as well.

Not to scare you, but the moving of your bed sounds like a demonic encounter.

If you have a religious belief system, you may want to attempt to protect yourself, particularly at night.  This does not mean that your house is haunted or that you have problems.  This just means that, occasionally, you may have encounters with undesirable spirits.

There is also something about keeping your TV on when you sleep, that seems to prevent spirits from bothering you at night.  Don't ask me why....

So in my humble opinion, you appear to be a "sensitive" and unlike a medium you can turn this off if you don't want it.

  8. An empath can not only feel the emotions of others, but can take on those emotions and feelings as their own.  An empath can also feel the physical pain and suffering of others.  This gift is not really geared towards medium-ship or psychic precognition, but can accompany it.

A psychic medium can have some sort of contact with the other side and the way in which this occurs varies.  Some may see and hear spirits while others can only see or hear them but not both.

Now, there are also sensitives who are not on the same level as a medium, meaning they might not be able to see or hear the spirits, but can sense their presence due to subtle changes in the environment around them which can be felt physically.

There can be a mix and match so to speak of abilities and the level and way in which it is perceived will vary among people.

If you feel you have any type of psychic ability, you should focus on what it is you are experiencing and keep a journal to help you clarify the what, when, and how of the situation.  Do some research into the different aspects of clairvoyance and see where you feel you may fit in.

  9. I'm curious to know what your disability is/was, as it might relate to why you were experiencing these things. I'm personally a big advocate of taking advantage of our health care and getting a doctor's opinion on anything that can be health related, so that's what I'd advise you to do.

As far as your abilities, there's not enough detail to really give you a lengthy response. But predicting the death of relatives may not be too difficult if they are ill or old, feeling cold spots in a house is typical due to uneven air distribution, and power of suggestion can explain the tingling if you were taking the cold spot to be evidence of some paranormal activity. The power of suggestion can also explain the sensation of tingling connected with your worries about your empathy. So no, I don't think you're a medium. As far as being emphathic, every healthy person has empathy for human beings, and can sense what others are feeling through body language, verbal communication and other visual cues. This isn't paranormal. Being woken up at night by your bed being pushed can easily be explained as a dream -- after all, you weren't awake until after the bed was pushed, from your perspective.

But I'd advise you to talk over all these experiences with your doctor, especially if you think you no longer have empathy for other people. That may signal more serious things happening with your body.
