Am I a nerd? ?

Okay so I've never thought of myself as a nerd, but when I think about it I think I actually am. I have normal friends and do normal things and stuff, I'm not sitting at the D&D table at lunch or anything lol, but I have this not-so-secret double life. For instance,

-I LOVE video games! On a Saturday I could fxcking play Oblivion or Asheron's Call for like, hours.

-I also love Star Wars, I have a t-shirt and a Stormtrooper helmet to prove it lol.

-And my favorite shows are Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hungerforce, Futurama, Dragonball Z and stuff like that. I also watch X-Play a lot.

-I read a lot, kinda lol.

So I kind of wanted to clear it up, am I in the coveted Geek Club lol? Not that I'm big into labels or anything.

  1. Yeah pretty much, nerd. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with being intelligent. Bill Gates was a nerd. And he invented the television.

  2. Its up to you the definition of geek is "an unfashionable or socially inept person." are you what you have said is that you like video games and star wars so what whats what you like other people like other things.

  3. Lol nah, you barely scratched the surface of it, Star Wars was a good effects movie series so pretty much anyone who likes a good movie with awesome visual effects loves it, the shows u watch are comedy- comedy aint geeky is it? reading is good, everyone should read, playing video games is a normal pass time now-a-days with the new technology, a full out geek would be someone who is constantly made fun of, makes conversations awkward, plays D&D all the time, and watches and owns every single old re-run of Star TREK

  4. A little bit, but not a major geek.  There's nothing wrong with being a geek anyway

  5. Yeah id say your a geek.

But as long as u keep it hidden, you will keep your popularity status =)

  6. Only if you rather play video games instead of going out with your friends...

  7. Yeah your a nerd.

Not too much of one though.

You'd definitely have to like D&D to be knighted into full geekdom.

I think any guy nowadyas loves videogames, and those cartoons.

  8. it dosent matter if your a geek anyway its if your happy with who you are

  9. i would say so but nothing wrong with that

  10. Why does it matter what other people think of you?  The primary thing is you should be happy with yourself.

I would say I'm a nerd/geek by that definition, and you know what.. I don't care, if doesn't effect what I do or how well I do something.  My brother is a nerd/jock in a sense, he plays halo (A lot) and talks about it in school/discusses it with his friends.  And he's admitted that he probally is a jock nerd, but he doesn't care, he does what he likes for fun.

All that matters is you enjoy life while you can, with or without other friends.  I've always been a bit anti-social, so I was self-effecient for delaying boredom.

  11. well first is that the star wars t-shirt is nerdy  and playing on games for hours is normal because everyone does and family guy is not nerdy every one loves family guy

  12. It does depend on some things.

how long do you play computer games per day?

do you ever get outside riding/skating with friends?

Do people constantly tease you at school

Do you get along well with the girls you'd call popular?

Are there a group of people (that you dont hang out with that you would call "nerdy" or "geeky"?

as you can guess you can guess if your nerdy or geeky when you answer these questions.

also what a person above said.

It doesnt matter, as long as your happy with who you are.

  13. well, I don't think there is anything with all of those things, as long as you are enjoying what you do.. It's not always about what people think of you.. :)

    Cheers,
