Am I a productive citizen even if I'm in graduate school at age 30?

I sure don't feel like one. There are people a lot younger than me who are accomplished, own a home, have a career, etc. I have nothing! I have to borrow money just to eat. I feel like a parasite.

  1. Well, I'll be a 30 year old grad student...and I consider it the smartest move I've made!  I will have my home, and career when I'm ready for them.  I have life experience that all those 23 year olds don't.  Feel like a parasite if you want....I'm right on track (I suggest you join me).

  2. I'm older than you and I'll be entering into school for the second time. When you finish, and you're well off, you'll know that you earned this. Good luck.

  3. We grad students are never considered productive.  But someday we'll graduate and be the ones well-off.  Hopefully it won't be too late for a family by that point.
