Today I bought this leopard print backpack with a hoodie attached (it had cute ears on the hoodie too) for school and when I got home I showed my sister my purchase and she said isn't that a bit hypocritical? Does she have a point?

  1. Not unless it's really a leopard.  It just sounds tacky to me.

  2. It's not made of fur or animal skin, just explain you're trying to become more 'one' with the animals if anyone gives you c**p over it.  Enjoy your purchase, it sound like a cute hoody!

  3. No. vegetarians don't fund animal torture.

Did an animal suffer or die for your backpack?

  4. ... That doesn't make sense at all. Unless it's made with real fur, there's nothing wrong with a cute hoodie.

  5. if it's made out of an animal then it would be, but if it's strictly manmade materials then it doesn't matter what it looks like or resembles!  sounds like she's looking for a way to push your buttons.

  6. only if you eat it.

  7. I believe so - Allow me to explain why.

    I am vegan

my campaign is never digest anything with eyes or digest a murdered animal also I am against wearing or sporting to say it short cruelty to any living and non-living thing!

so for you to wear anything with an animal print on it is quite offensive to me, I understand it is not true hide of any animal still quite offensive.

  8. Leopard print?

Your purchase is vegetarian/vegan as long as it isn't made of leather, fur, wool, silk, angora, cashmere or another animal product textile. The print (the dye on the vegetable-based fabric) has nothing to do with animal products or animal business.

What you may want to consider is whether or not this product was made in a sweatshop or by forced labor...

  9. Somewhat, I would definitely say yes if it were real leopard, and not just print. If you don't think animals should be eaten.. why should they be worn?

  10. I don't think that really makes sense unless it's real fur.

  11. A) It wasn't actually made of leopard (i hope) so I think she was just being a bi+ch.

    B) You are the one that chooses your beliefs and the extent in which you choose to practice them. Don't let someone else dictate what you should do.

  12. well if you are a strict vegetarian then yes because it was made from leopard skin but it is your choice do what you think is right

  13. It's just print on a backpack.  I have pillows on my couch that look like cow print.  I didn't use real cow.  Your sister needs to knock it off.  Statements like that just make her seem overbearing and ignorant.

  14. No, not at all. It's leopard PRINT, not fur. That just shows that you like the pattern. There's no animal cruelty involved in that.

  15. Yes she does.

  16. Of course not, it isn't real fur

  17. no...

first many vegetarians still wear fur

second it wasn't even real... even if it was you do what you can for the animals

i'm a vegan but don't get upset if i buy leather... i wouldn't wear fur but that's my things... you have to understand something... animals are uber important to me but i'm not gonna go crazy for them

  18. How come it would be? Not a tad! Your sister is just acting way too immature.

  19. um no not at all!

its just a print on a backpack

ur supporting your love for animals

now if it were real then yeah that would be very wrong

  20. No I have a faux fur jacket that has an animal print on it- it's quite obvious it is not real. Emulating the print does not involve animal cruelty. You are not hypocritical for wearing the print- if it's faux, then no harm was caused.

  21. Is your back pack made of a dead cat?!?!?!

If not, your sister is an idiot or she was kidding and you need to lighten up.

  22. No, I could care less. Buy whatever you want.
