Am I able to board a plane with a plaster cast?

My family and I have been planning a trip to LA and my sister has recently gotten her arm broken and is wrapped with a plaster cast.

I want to know if she's able to get on a plane or pass security with the plaster cast. Why or Why not.

Sure she can, she'll have to go through the metal detector just like everyone else and unless she's hiding a weapon or a bomb in her cast, will be cleared to to proceed to the plane.
