There have been numerous unsolved murders, break-ins and vadalism. Over the weekend someone tried to steal my car. The security guards were right accross the street and didn't check because they thought "maybe somebody hit the panic button by mistake". MY kids can't go outside to play without the neighborhood kids picking fights with them or the little boys touching my girls where they have no business touching them! Please help, what can I do?

  1.   You ever watch the People's Court? Every State is different. Common sense will say that you must of known the kind of area you were moving into. If not you should have done your homework.

On the other hand you arentitleded (most States) to an expectancycy of a certain level of safety and security. If your landlord didn't replace windows, allowed neglectedeted some security breach that caused you concern that could change thing especially good would be if you have that in writing in the lease. Other then that it will just sound like buyers remorse...Mary

  2. Talk to a lawyer; have him review your lease. but probably not.

  3. you can ask the landlord to let you out of your lease...

you can leave and break the lease but have to do whatever was in your lease/contract as an agreement if you break lease...

the state isn't going to help you on this, it's kind of like buyer beware.  check out an area before you move there, not the landlord's fault that you didn't do your homework first.  not the landlord's fault there is high crime either
