Am I able to change my reservation flight destination and date with american airlines?

I booked a return flight to New York from London, this christmas, but only booked it on the last day with a voucher and have no idea of my plans then. However, it is likely I cannot go this christmas, so is it possible to change my reservation for a return to say Miami or LA next summer? Or can you only change the dates with your reservation (not the destination)

this depends entirely on the type of ticket that you have purchased.  You should call them direct.  it sounds like you are far enough in advance that your chances are excelent.  However, some tickets are restricted and allow no changes at all.  You have to check with the airline and the sooner the better.
