I bought a Psp from a shop in Tottenham Court Road for 135.00 with 4 games downloaded on it. They said it was their last old model. When we got home we tried charging it up and after two hours the light went off. The Psp would not work and when put on again to charge further the light showing the charge did not come on. We then checked the receipt and have found out the charger is not the right type, and they have charged us extra for the charger, the cable, and the memory card. I thought they all came with the Psp included. Now that it does not appear to work do shops have a commitment to refund.

  1. if it is faulty or not of merchantable quality you can demand a refund.

do not accept a credit voucher if it is offered and if they tell you to

refer to the manufacturer, refuse because in law your contract is with

the seller. once you accept any of the aforementioned you say goodbye to your legal rights

  2. They are in breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regs.  Just yet this won't get your money back but could get them nicked.

New regs coming out will let them avoid being nicked if they pay a penalty notice and refund/compensate you

  3. ye you should get your money back as the goods sold to you do not do what they are supposed to do

  4. you have a right to get your money back.  any product you purchase has to be working and in good order when you purchase it.  take them to small claims court if they will not satisfy your needs.  there is a law the states a product has to be merchantable to be sold. good luck
