Question:

Am I actually seeing auras?

Alright, to start off, I've been able to see a slight glow around people since before I can remember. Yet, it's not all the time. Usually it's when I'm staring, or daydreaming. It's also not like any of the aura examples I've seen, being as it only radiates a maximum of 2 to 3 inches from the body. The color is also faint, yet distinctive. Also, when the person moves, the glow follows, yet a bit delayed.

I never knew this was something to even mention to anyone, until two days ago I heard some psychic lady talking about her ability. I was like, "Whoa! I see those!". Anyways, I can see the colors and all, however I've never seen anything but light red, purple, and such.

Lastly, I have also always been able to stare at something random for a long period of time which causes everything to change colors, like red or purple...This happens in waves as if I'm looking through colored lenses...It usually goes on until I completely lose sight of my entire surroundings. Explanations? Any?

  1. when did you first start seeing auras because i remember when i was 10 could see colors around people and be able to do what i wantec with them like make them grow,shrink..ETC... because i had a training by afriend of mine mother she does it all i practice with my own aura.

  2. Well, I am psychic and occasionly see auras as well.  Don't let someone tell you what those are,,let your own heart tell you.  Example: I was at dinner with a friend and I was seeing an aura around his body.  I told him about it and did a little bit of research and found out it was related to some cancer he soon discovered he had.

What you can do is a gift and if you analyze it will never make sense.  Just do some research and try to understand it better.

  3. I believe you are seeing auras... and possibly tapping into your psychic side more and more... I remember the first time I saw my friends aura... I almost had a heart attack! I couldnt believe it! The best way to continue seeing and interpreting auras is to make sure you and clear, grounded, content and when gazing at a person listening look with a periphrial (sp? sorry i am a terrible speller) vision around their head/neck area. Its easiest to see there.

  4. If you stare at anything for a long time, it starts to look weird.  But you say you can see light coming from people?  Here's a way to test if you're actually seeing it.  Find someone who's aura you can see and have them hide behind a door or something.  Since you said you can see it extending a few inches, if they put their hand near the edge of the door, you should be able to see the aura, right?  So you'd know their hand was there, even if you couldn't see the hand itself.  If you can do this enough time and know when their hand is there and when it isn't, then this guy will give you a million bucks for being the first person to have prove that they could actually see auras.  http://www.randi.org  It turns out everyone else was mistaken, or lying.

  5. Whether it's paranormal or medical, what you describe are, indeed, auras.  There are medical conditions that can cause disturbed vision, so I'd check with your eye doctor.  That being said, there are a couple of different types of auras that a person can see. The most common (and the one I also see) is the one you describe: 2-3 inches from the body.

The other thing you mention is about staring at things, causing everything to change colors. This is not a paranormal phenomena. It's partly a defense mechanism of the brain, making the center focus clear, as the peripheral vision dims. It occurs in waves because of the nerves in your eyes. Usually, there are not colors associated with it, so - again - check with your eye doctor, particularly since you mentioned that you completely lose sight of your entire surroundings.

  6. There are (at least) two things to consider here.  First, since you are perceiving something visually, you must ask yourself if it's "really there" independent of your perception.  In other words, is what you're seeing in front of or behind your cornea?

If what you are seeing is really there then it should be measurable  And unless you have a special ability, others should be able to see *exactly what you're seeing*.  If you have a special ability, what is it?  Can it be measured?  Is this the only way this special ability manifests itself?

It's not entirely impossible these auras aren't really there.  It's not impossible that what you are seeing isn't some sort of visual or cognitive impairment.  It's not impossible this ability is couched in fantasy.
