Question:

Am I agnostic or Christian?

I believe in God, there is no doubt there. But I think it may be true that whole religion thing is made up and nothing different than people believing in various Gods during Greek mythology years. I don't believe pre-martial s*x or homosexuality are a sin, I don't think being from a different religion is a bad thing or non-Christians, atheists will go to h**l.

But when I think about religions as philosophies if it makes sense I love Jesus, but as a philosophy I'm much closer to Buddhism (as a philosophy, I don't see it as a religion). Sometimes I pray but my own words, not like reading parts from the holy books.

Am I an agnostic or a Christian who has some questions? Please don't answer based on your own beliefs but your mind. Thank you :-)

  1. Well, according to the Christian Bible, you are most definitely not a Christian.  It sounds like you're just a spiritual person who chooses to pray to a famous person from ancient times--also known as Jesus.

Stop worrying about what religion you are.  Stop looking for a "label" to give yourself and start living your life, searching for truth, doing right by your fellow man, and living justly.  Labels only cause more harm and prejudice than good.

  2. You are much too intelligent to be a fundie Christian.  Do you believe that Jesus was the literal "son" of God?  If you do, you are a Christian, albeit an open minded Christian.  If you believe that Jesus was perhaps a prophet or teacher, than I would label you agnostic/deist.

  3. Not Agnostic....Agnostic means that you don't give a c**p if there is a god or not

  4. I'm sorry but you can't be a Christian until you have truly accepted God into your life and you know Jesus as your Saviour. You need to have faith and believe the Bible as God's word.

  5. You are not Christian.  A Christian believes the bible, or at least, they should.

You are a person who believes in God and has their own opinions about everything else.

  6. What you said sounds similar to Unitarian Universalism.

  7. Checks book of definitions... Probably not Christian.  Definitions of others may vary, but one that calls you "Christian" would have to be a pretty broad definition.

Instead, try "agnostic theist."  There are actually many several varieties of "agnostic," but if you feel certain there's some deity out there, then this is more specific.

The Unitarian Universalist church is the next best thing to a church for agnostic theists, who would, of course, not be sure if a church was actually what they needed.

  8. You mention that theres "nothing different than people believing in various Gods during Greek mythology years". Not everyone will see things this way and those that do still believe in the Olympian Gods, which may come as a bit of a surprise to you.

You also talk about philosophy which is a major componant of the Olympian religion, most people have heard about Pythagoras, Plato & etc but many are unaware that these great philosophers also believed in the Gods.

You may finally decide that you're either an Agnostic or a Christian but I think that you, like many people, are grounded in the spirituality of Western civilisation which originated in the classics of ancient Greece.

  9. A person cannot answer this question without basing it on their beliefs.  Our beliefs are part of who we are and how we think.  And you have a religion, it looks like unitarian universalism or something to me.

  10. You are not an agnostic.

You may want to read up on a variety of religions and see if any of those are a good fit for you.

There are Christian churches, such as Unity Churches that are very open to all kinds of faiths.  You may want to look into that.

  11. How  are we supposed to know what Religion you are?
