I am signed up for the motorcycle course in late July. Must I wait to purchase my bike prior to course completion?

What are Florida laws concerning this?

  1. Yes you can as long as you have the state mandated INS. coverage. If you are buying from a dealer then they  will take care of it for you. I it is a for sell by owner deal all you got to do is take the bill of sale title and ins to the DMV. Now It will still be illegal for you to ride until you have your endorsement. but they can keep you from owning one.

  2. Dealers do not care if you have a license or not, all they care about is you ability to pay and your having insurance. I bought many bikes before I had a license and I never got questioned once. The only people that do seem to care are the police.

  3. YES

  4. You can own whatever you want; but it still won't be legal to ride if you don't have the endorsement.

I can't imagine any dealer not being willing to take your money just because you don't have the endorsement.

    Here's a laugh directly from Florida HSMV website Q & A ......

Q "What if I have completed the Experienced Rider Course but did not secure my endorsement before July 1, 2008?"

A "You still have to take the Basic Rider Course before you can secure the endorsement and be legal to drive a motorcycle."

Leave it to a bunch of politicians to make laws like that, eh?

  5. u have to wait until after u take the course dealers wont sell u a bike unless u have a license or u could buy from a private seller
