Wreckers have them for the same reason I want them....get peoples attention to slow down so I don't get splatted on the road. Wreckers don't have a badgeor lawful authority.

  1. no however you can put yellow ones on

  2. If you read the Texas DPS site you will see that red and blue are for police, EMT and emergency vehicle and yellow are for for tow trucks, service truck and highway service trucks........

    So use yellow only.....

  3. You can have yellow lights on the wrecker, but blue lights belong on police cars and red go fire engines. This is in Ma.

  4. Only Yellow and you can have Red but not blue, but go to your DMV online and search the issue on the DMV web site and it will tell you.

  5. Everywhere I've been, U.S. states and Canada, you would have to put yellow lights on any roadside assistance vehicle.

If you stop at a local weighscales, you could talk to the enforcement officer on duty there who would explain it to you. They deal with commercial vehicles and traffic on the major interstates and will refer you to proper information.

  6. Depends on what state you're in. Probably not. Yellow is probably OK.

    Contact your DMV to verify.

  7. No.

Red or blue lights are reserved for emergency vehicles. Your truck does not qualify for that. Amber lights are for utility vehicles (tow trucks, uitility services, tree trimming, electrical service, phone service, snow plows, HERO trucks and so on).

However, you can, with a state permit, put amber lights on your truck. Contact your local NTSB office and find out what the requirements are and how to get an application.

    EMT

  8. The red/blue combination light bar is law enforcement only.  A wrecker gets yellow lights, or a combination of colours depending on the state, but never blue and red, it imitates police.
