Am I allowed to take DVDs and CDs with me if I travel by plane?

I'll have to live in another country for 6 months and I would like to take some CDs and DVDs with me (movies, music, programs). Am I allowed to have these in the luggage?

I'll travel with British Airways, in case this detail is important.

Please reply only if you've traveled by plane and you know for sure the answer.

  2. Yes! You are allowed to carry both, either on your carry on or checked luggage.

  3. Yes, both in checked luggage and carry-on luggage.  I brought my portable DVD player and cd's, there is nothing wrong.
