I'm 19 years old, currently seeking for daycare/preschool part time job. But if that's impossible, I'd like to volunteer for the start.

Do you think I'm eligible to volunteer? Because I've been researching for the information, they don't seem like they accept volunteers near my area! zip code: 11373

please help!

  1. You will need a background check - those are mandatory in our state but I love volunteers!

  2. The BIGGEST THING:

    passing the background check.

that is the big thing, then you have to see if a place is looking for you.

  3. Find out if there is a Head Start in your area. they frequently welcome volunteers. you will have to pass a background check and possibly meet other requirements.

  4. hmmm..interesting.  Most daycare/preschools love volunteers!  And your are 19 so you should be able to seek employment...but I don't know your zip code so maybe it's not that way in your area.  In our state you must pass a criminal background check.  Keep trying!

  5. another thing to do (to increase your chances) is to look at taking first aid & CPR classes. it should be required that all daycare establishments have this criteria. once you take those classes they will give you a card or certificate that should be good for 2-3 years depending. you also might want to mention or show them that when you try applying or volunteering again. hope this helped

  6. The best thing to do would be go in to the schools and ask. And you will have to pass a background check.
