Im entering my Junior year in Highschool and im told I have a gpa of 1.9 I failed Geometry and History for the year of sopmore year and I have to re take them. I totally messed up sophmore year and got into some badthings. But I cleaned out and I want to try to start up again but I feel like its to late. I did one of those Online gpa calculators and even if I get all A's for Junior and Senior year I'll only have a 2.8

But If I at least get a 2.4-2.8 I'll be happy. Thats if I get no more failing grades. I do so much in school. Band, Marching Band, concert cjhoir, chamber choir, master choir, school play and Ive been a p2pstudent. I really want to go to Hartford University, but I dont know what the GPA requirement is there. But Am I to late to start up with a freakin 1.9?

  1. I wouldnt say its too late, you may just not be able to get into a University thats ranked in the top 100 national. Although I still wouldnt say give up. Then again if you play a sport and is well in it, it can give a boost.

  2. Nope! It's never too late, a 2.4-2.8 is better than a 1.9. With your after school activities and essay's for college you could surprise yourself and get into a university. If not, as the other responder said, go a junior college and then transfer. At least it's not a 1.9 in your jr. year of college.

  3. that is pretty bad. your only choice is community college

  4. First of all, don't let the possibility of not getting in somewhere keep you from trying. I've heard stories of kids with low GPAs that got into good schools because something else "dazzled" the admissions office on their application. I see that you have a huge interest in music in school, right? So that's something. If you work your butt off (maybe even take some summer school classes) and show that you're willing to get your grades up, you still have a chance of getting into a good school. I'll be frank...your chances of getting into a school such as Stanford or Yale and maybe some other universities are pretty much slim to none, but if you do well on your SATs, keep up with the music, and work your a** off to keep your grades up the next two years, I think you'll have a fair shot at getting into a good school.

  5. Thats pretty bad.

I got higher than that not even trying in school.

  6. go to community college for the first 2 years. you save a boatload of money. and if you do well, you can get into a 4 year college for the next 2 years of your education.

its much easier to get into a 4 year college with an associates degree with a 3.0 + GPA, than to apply directly to the 4 year college from high school with a 3.0 GPA.

  7. the first answer is great lol

and you need to pay more attention in class, a 1.9, jesus lol
