  1. Do you plan to split hairs as well?

You are unique. There is no one quite like you in the whole world. In Australia the traditional people are not cast minded. If you are Aboriginal, you are accepted into their community, even if you have only one protein molecule of indigenous blood, and are as white as the lilly of the fields. It's the heart that matters.

  2. Your would be

    1/2 from his dad

    1/4 from his mom

for 3/4ths, not 1/2. That makes you 3/8ths, if your mom was 100% white, since you are half of each parent.

I don't know if that qualifies you for anything; I just corrected your math. As the first answerer said, call or write to the tribal office.

  3. The only people that are LEGALLY American Indian are those that are enrolled tribal members/citizens of US Federally Recognized Tribes.  By being an enrolled tribal member, a tribe acknowledges a person as one of their own.  The US Government honors each tribe's definition of who is and who isn't a part of them.  This is no different than Canada, for instance, defining who is a Canadian and the US acknowledging Canadian citizens as Canadian.  So, no matter what your, your parents, or your grandparents blood quantum, if you are acknowledged by a tribe as being one of the tribe, you are an American Indian.  If not, then you are not.

  4. Contact Cherokee Nations in Oklahoma and have them check the rolls, they will be able to tell you all the information you need.
