Question:

Am I at a healthy/average weight?

I am not asking if I'm fat. I'm asking if I am healthy or average.

I am 14, 125 pounds (last time I was weighed) and am 5' 3".

I am a size 3 / 4.

Should I lose a few pounds in order to get healthier or am I fine as I am now?

I am asking this because my dad is constantly making fun of me. It's been getting on my nerves and I want to make sure that I am heathy.

  1. Your ideal weight would be 115 lbs so above 135 lbs could be regarded as overweight and below 95 lbs could be regarded as underweight.  Your weight is OK.  You don't need to lose any weight.

  2. Unless your fat and unsightly, weight has nothing to do with being healthy.

Eat your veggies and fruits. Get your proper nutrients for the day, drink lots of water and you'll be just fine!

  3. You're fine, My brother tells me I'm fat and I'm very thin. Don't worry about what other people say, just worry about yourself. Just eat right and get plenty of exercise.

  4. That sounds like a very healthy and average weight.  I personally cannot stand parents who put their children down like that.  Do not worry about it.  You really are fine.  Just stay physically active and you will not have to worry about it.

As for your Dad....I'm sorry you have to live with that.  I wish you the best in life.
