I'm not sure why you it funny, I didn't laugh. I feel sympathy for any family that has to go through this sort of thing. I'm not Christian and I don't think that your religion has anything to do with what sorts of misfortunes or hardships one has to endure. Her daughter got pregnant. So do a lot of people's teenage daughters. That's unfortunate and has little to do with their religion, their political affiliation, or anything else. I certainly don't take pleasure in other's troubles. I'll still probably vote for Obama and this has nothing to do with it. Hopefully her daughter can rise to the occasion and be a good mother to her child.

Seems many Christians don't see the irony.

I feel bad for this girl, but whatever c**p falls on her mother, I'm good with that.  You don't want your kid to get pregnant, you teach them they realities of s*x and contraception, not just wait until you are married..   Now this girl, at 17 years old is being coerced into a marriage.

Well, you have much to be proud of.  Your parents must be very proud of you for waiting until you were 25.  

I don't see how people can look at our society today and single some people out to laugh at, when the sexual onslaught of our children is everywhere.

The last laugh could be hers, btw.  If her daughter marries the child's father and they live happily ever after, that is.  They certainly have an abundance of family resources to help.

I am an average Christian teen who is definitely abstaining until marriage. I think that abstinence only education is mainly to blame for this. If teens in Alaska were actually taught something else besides abstinence only s*x ed, then this would probably have never happened. Teens are curious, and many of us are going to have s*x before marriage. Why can't the state just help us prevent the pregnancies that ruin our lives by letting us learn about safe s*x? It's not going to make us more likely to have s*x, it will only make our lives better if we are.

It is pretty ironic though that many of teen pregnancies come from conservative Christian homes. I think that this is because those parents just never actually notice what is going on in their teen's lives and never realize in their ignorance that their teen would be in a situation where they could get pregnant. They just assume that their child is the perfect godly angel, which (hate to say it) is mostly not the case.
