Question:

Am I being a nag when I am watching out for myself and my family??

I live in an apartment building and I have complained on my neighbors above me many times for disturbing my peace.

They have children running through the hallways and up and down the stairs. Come home at 2 am and started stomping on their floor (I live on the first floor). Smoke in a non-smoking building and drop their cigarette butts and beer bottle tops by my windows.

I have complained about them to the office manager and called the police on them when they stomp at 2 am.

I don't want to annoy the office manager, but I am just looking out for myself and my family. I have little children and they do not run through the halls. I watch my children- why can't my neighbors watch theirs???

Am I wrong???

  1. no, just typical behavior in the hood..........

  2. Ana this is a horrible thing to have to suffer.  It's not nice when you have no peace from neighbours who don't have the same morality as you.

You're not wrong.  I hope you will keep a diary and keep complaining.  If you are in UK then go to the Citizens advice bureau, and ask them if they can give you some clear advice of your rights.

  3. You are in the right to complain both to these unthinking neighbors and to the office manager.

  4. No, but you can't really do much about how others live their life, so the best thing you can do is strive to improve your living conditions by moving somewhere that management will take the rules seriously and look out for people like you instead of just taking your money and allowing the neighbors to make you miserable.

  5. No you are not wrong.  The management needs to put a stop to this.  If they don't then next time this happens call the police.

  6. Nope. Where are their parents? If the office manager won't do anything, you might be better off moving somewhere else.

  7. no you are not wrong,

I don't know if I would have called the police but I don't have to deal with all that.

have you tried to talk to the parents? no scratch that, some people get real offended when you correct them.

you will either have to move or keep bugging the manager,

    you pay rent there to.

  8. you aren't wrong, sounds like they are.  you have to do what's best for your family~
