Okay we have one iPod in our house which is mine my dad bought it for me.

And I have put all my favourite songs on it.

I have had it for over a year and a 5 months now or so.

But now my sister wants us to share the iPod and she wants to put her songs on it. We have different favourite genres.

I like Classic Rock, Metal and Hair Metal. She likes, Pop, other world music like Tarkan (some Turkish Singer) and Piddidy or whatever his name is.

I don't really want to share because from September onwards I will be starting college and I will be catching a bus there and I want to listen to my favourite songs.

So do you thing I am being Greedy? I am 17 and she is 20 in University and will be going back from September onwards.

If I am not being Greedy, what shall I say to my sister?

If I am being Greedy how shall I share my iPod?

Oh by the way we have a good relationship with each other. meaning we fight rarely argue some times.

But she wants really wants the iPod and I don't want to share.

  1. When I first read this question, I thought it was being asked by a 13 or 14 year old.  I didn't realize the both of you were that much older.

I'm not trying to be rude, but, why don't the both of you get jobs and buy your own iPods?  Problem solved.

  2. Dont share it!! She only has a less than a month. She should buy her own.

God im sooooo glad i dont have a sister!!

  3. Its like in the middle. u want for urself but everyone has that time. Sharing is caring as my dad usually says, but when i didnt have anything i bought it so no one bothers with it andi have my personal own ipod. tell ur parents or sister to buy one. She's 20 yrs old and should have a job that wud get her a IPOD real easy.

  4. Just tell her you listen to it all the time and take iot everywhere you go so you're not really sure when she would actually have the chance to use it!

But that you are happy to share it with her if she really, really wants to- you will be a bigger, better person for agreeing to share, even if you don't want to at all!!

The other thing is that, at 20, she should be earning enough money to buy her own?

And suggest that she asks for one for her next big present (birhtday/Christmas).

Also, tell her to put all your songs on a separate playlist before she uploads her stuff, that way you can just play your own list instead of having to listen to her P Diddy (c**p) when you put it on Random!

  5. Shes 20 & at uni?  She can buy her own!! But it really isn't a big deal in the scheme of things.

  6. i dont think you are bieng greedy that ipod is yours you dad bought it for you and you could lend it to her if you want instead of asking you for it she should ask your dad to get her one so no i dont think you are greedy

  7. you are not greedy at all ,why can she not ask dad to buy her one ,christmas is not too far away!!!

  8. Your not greedy no - I couldn't agree more with Sean O - thats my sentiments exactly.

  9. i don't think you are being greedy if she is 20 then she should buy her own instead of asking for your stuff or give her yours and buy a brand new one and keep it for yourself

  10. she is 20 old enough to get a job and buy her own!

  11. no its yours.

    she can get her own.

shes old enough, plus it sounds like your going to be using it a lot.

  12. i wouldnt share with her

tell her to get her own

she doesnt even need an ipod just a cheap mp3 player.

  13. whats yours is yours she has to respect that, if you dont want to share then dont, she'll have to find a way of getting her own music, say to her you can expect me to just borrow all of your thing if you've put money into it, if its your favourite thing or whatever, so i shouldnt have to do the same.

  14. You aren't being greedy. She's 20 years old, she can buy her own ipod. I could never stand to share my ipod with my brother because i have it on all the time lol.

  15. If you are college aged you could both but your own ipods, you can get a 2gb for $76.

  16. Buy her a shuffle - she'll love you forever. And she'll look ungrateful if she still says she wants to share the other one.

  17. It is yours and therefore your decision whether you want to share or not. Sounds like sharing would not be very convenient anyways and so there is nothing wrong with not wanting to.

At 20 years old, she should be plenty old enough that she could buy her own. She can save up money herself. If she does not have a job, she can get a part time job. It would teach her responsibility anyways. I went to college full time and worked full time and planned a wedding and kept up other "life" obligations all at once, so college and a part time job should be completely manageable.

  18. When she uses it make sure she puts your play list on before she hands it back to you, simple and no arguements, it's nice of you to share.

  19. Ask yourself would she share the i pod with you if it was hers.If you truthfully think that share would then you should share.

  20. tell her to jog on....sharing Ipods? are you the poorest family in the world?

  21. You could let her have her own play list on your ipod when your at home.  Obviously when you go to college you'll want to take it out the house and she'll need to understand this.

  22. tell your sister to sod off and grow up.  its not greedy to stand your ground over your property.

  23. Just tell her the truth.  You don't want to share the IPod and explain why.  Also she will be leaving in about 2 weeks.  At her age, why doesn't she get her own?  They even rent them out at certain places.  You've had the IPod for this length of time and you are not being greedy.  She's older and should by now understand.  It's yours.  Good luck!

  24. I wish i could live in your world where that is my biggest problem!

  25. I don't think you are. I have a younger sister who is into pop, r and b and all that c**p. I would never share her ipod with me in my oppinion she can get her own.

  26. Get her to ask for one for her birthday  or buy one for herself. Does she have a job?
