Okay, so...My mom always tells me and my brother that we should go here and there. Example, mini golfing or laser tag or something like that. I always don't want to go, because I never enjoy those places and she keeps telling me that I'm being selfish. I might be...but what I don't understand is that, why can't she and my brother just go without me? I mean...i don't understand why I MUST go

  1. to make everyone think that he has a friend because he has none.

  2. i would say yes its called family time when you get out on your own family time will become less and less you will miss doing things with your family

  3. it sounds like you just don't want to be with your fam and this is probably what your mom fears. Would it kill you to get off the computer or your cell phone to be with your family once in a while?

  4. i know the feeling! just cuz u dont like that stuff they get all mad and cant go cuz u dont want to! its so stupid!

  5. Maybe instead of those specific family activities, you could suggest some of your own that wouldn't be so non-enjoyable for you. Like cooking something as a family or going on a hike. If you don't like doing things in such big groups, ask your mom if just you two can hang out alone or try to have quality time with your brother. When it comes time to go on a "family outing," just tell your mom that you enjoy one-on-one time more or that you've been spending so much time with them that you just need a little alone time. Or just tell her it's also selfish of her to expect you to enjoy being forced into a mold of the "perfect family" (but that would be disobeying your parents, which I disagree with, but still, it seems a bit true).

edit: It sounds like wd40go is right, I think your mom just wants to maintain working relationships between all of you. She doesn't want your actions, she wants your heart in it. All she wants is to make sure you guys don't drift too far away. I think as long as you always make time for your family, she should let you have time for yourself, too.
