Question:

Am I being too optimistic about cruising in April?

We are waiting for our taxes to be done before booking last minute cruise and plan to cruise April 12. Most likely we won't have the payment for it till 3/15/07 (maybe 3/9/07) and are hoping to cruise from Port Canaveral but are willing to go to any other FL port. Are we being silly or will there still be availability "last minute" like this?

  1. I booked for April 29th leaving Port Canaveral. We booked January 27th and last week our dues we all due. We booked through AAA and had to have the payment completly in by the 28th. I paid 600 out of 728 for two tickets and paid the last 128 a couple days ago. I would say-dont depend on it. Be careful...good luck with it. A lot of places have good deals for last minute but you cannot plan on a great room and be picky!

  2. check www.lastminutecruises.com

They may have some deals for you!

  3. You're going at a time when the country is on Spring Break and Easter.  I went last April on Carnival Liberty and it was packed - 3500+ people.  You'll probably find last minute deals, but they'll be on the first deck near the propellors.

  4. You may run into some problems that week, as thats considered Easter break for many east coast schools. I would call the cruise line you are interested and ask the agent how is the availability. They may be able to reserve your cabin and give you a week or two before you have to pay for it.

  5. There are almost always last minute cruise deals. You just can't be too picky. You may end up with an inside cabin or a deck that you don't want but you may pay much less than if you book it in advance. As long as you're flexible you can get a great deal on a cruise.
