Am I being underpaid/undertipped

I currently work as a server at Chili's. When I first got the job I figured I'd be pulling in at least $50 on a weekday, $100 on weekends. Instead, I'm lucky to pull in $30 during the weekdays (with $300 in sales) and $50 on a weekend ($500 in sales). It's very disappointing. I just want to compare it to what others are bring in.

  1. The gas crunch may be to blame, but it also may be the menu prices at Chili's.

Push more drinks.  A bigger bar tab will increase your sales and tips.

Also, tipsy patrons usually tip better.

  2. holy c**p.. that is very little. I used to work at a small chinese buffet place and i make anywhere between 35-55 (4-5hrs), but on average about 45 bucks. And weekends is pretty good. And when i worked at a higher class rest., i made 60 dollar tip on just one table with three people! That is very little what you're making. But i thought Chili's customers would be decent tippers. When i go there, i tip pretty good.

  3. i worked at outback steakhouse.

i made 250+ thru the WEEK!

and 675 on average thru the weekend!

but i worked alot and im an auss so yeh thats y i got tipped alot..
