I'm a new muslim...16 at that. I'm really harsh on myself about being the BEST Muslim I can be. I do wudu, try to pray when my mom isn't watching even though its hard because she isn't accepting, wear my hijab, quit playing my violin of 6 years, read the Qur'an pretty often or everyday, READ on Islam every chance I can get, dress more modestly, and avoid EVERYTHING that is HARAM?

***I am confused as into what is CONSIDERED ANCIENT HARAAM OR NOT?

    and u r conservative lady..

  2. U r doing good mashaallah, but if u think its too hard for u to quit playing violin ,u can still play it.There are more important things to do, concentrate on them. ( my opinion, not islam its haram in islam, but since u r a revert i can understand it will be really difficult for u to quit playing violin)

  3. Well, Their is a saying in Islam that says do a good deed so secret that even your right hand does not see it. Meaning that you should keep what you do to yourself. As Muslims we do not tell other what we do or its not valid and considered bragging or acting. Just a tip...Acts of kindness are not proof of being humble, but must be combined with sincere, good intentions that please Allah, swt.

  4. Ancient Haram? Whats that?

    You are so natural..!!

  5. i still cant see whats confusing you?

youre doing just great, lot of people including myself would probably have given up...

  6. I admire you. I'm also a convert (I'm 16 too)  I haven't told my mom yet because I already know what she thinks of islam and I already have a rocky relationship with her. I really having trouble keeping up with my prayers because of it and my mom keeps wanting to drag me to church. I'm a senior this year so I figure once I'm independent I can start wearing hijab. Your doing great at least compared to me. Your so strong for sticking through this. May Allah bless you for everything your doing.

  7. Inshallah, you change day by day!!

    you are doing so fine!!
